Language and Layout

For Contributors - Publication Language and Layout of Subsections

Publication language

Contributions in English, Afrikaans or any of the official South African languages are welcome. In the case of an article in Afrikaans or any of the official South African languages other than English, an English abstract of not more than 600 words must be provided. English articles should be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 200 words.

Layout of subsections

The subsection of the text must be clear and logical. In PIE we do not use the numbering system (i.e. 1.1, 1.1.1, etc.). Subsections should be clearly indicated by using the following stylistic tools to indicate the different heading levels:

Level 1: Lower case and bold

Level 2: Lower case

Level 3: Italic

Level 4: Underlined

Level 5: * Ordinary typing

Level 6: ** Ordinary typing

The review process takes between 2 to 4 months to complete. Authors will be informed of the editor's decision on receipt of all of the reviewers' reports.
